Ramadan: Sultan Cancels Lecture Sessions, Congregational Prayers

Muslims gear up to begin the Ramadan fasting in the next coming days, the sultan of Sokoto and of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has ordered that there would not be public lectures as well as congregation prayers.

The instruction was re-stated by Bashir Ahmad, a presidential aide via his official Twitter handle yesterday.

He said:

Chibok girls are still our priority - President Buhari

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said that his administration has not forgotten the remaining schoolgirls still being held in captivity and that they are still a priority. A third case of the Novel Coronavirus has just been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a new case totally independent of the index case. The patient is Nigerian female, 30 years of age, who just very recently returned from the UK, precisely on the 13th of March. She observed self-isolation, developed symptoms and tested positive to Covid-19. She is currently at Mainland General Hospital receiving medical care.
