President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have joined in the new trend of the "elbow-shake" as a form of greeting as the duo were spotted during the recent Central Bank of Nigeria Roundtable Session Dinner which held on Wednesday night.

With the extremely alarming rate at which the deadly coronavirus is currently spreading, the duo opted for the elbow shake as a form of precaution against contracting the killer disease as others including FCT Minister Boss Mustapha, Editor in Chief of the THISDAY media group Nduka Obaigbena, Nigerias favorite billionaire Aliko Dangote among others joined in on the trend.

Chibok girls are still our priority - President Buhari

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said that his administration has not forgotten the remaining schoolgirls still being held in captivity and that they are still a priority. The schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from Chibok community, Borno State, in April, 2014. He expressed optimism that the remaining schoolgirls will still regain their freedom. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mallam Garba Shehu, President Buhari, said security and intelligence networks in the country were not resting on the task of rescuing the girls. The President extended his good wishes to the people of Chibok community, who held prayers and thanksgiving services to mark the sixth year memorial of the kidnap, however, regretted that the government was unable to make representation in this year’s memorial, owing to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and restriction on movements. JUST IN!!! Coronavirus Update: Third Case Of Covid19 Confirmed In Nigeria.

A third case of the Novel Coronavirus has just been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria. This is a new case totally independent of the index case. The patient is Nigerian female, 30 years of age, who just very recently returned from the UK, precisely on the 13th of March. She observed self-isolation, developed symptoms and tested positive to Covid-19. She is currently at Mainland General Hospital receiving medical care.
